Online Food Safety Training

Online food safety training required to ensure compliance with Feeding America.

Feeding America has mandated that all partner agencies must have at minimum one person working with food distribution be knowledgeable of food safety.  The Houston Food Bank has developed an online course that meets Feeding America standards. This safety training is now a requirement to be an active member of the food bank to ensure compliance with Feeding America.

Instructions for Online Food Safety training
The deadline has been extended, all partner agencies (Pantries and Mobile Only) have until June 30, 2017 to complete the training.  It will work with Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. 
Please follow the link to access training: https://houstonfoodbank.litmos.com/self-signup/

You will be asked to sign up.  
Step 1.  In the box where it asks for first name, enter your full name.
Step 2.  In the box for your last name, enter your agency number and agency name.
Step 3.  In the email box, enter your email address.
Step 4.  In the code box, enter Agency in the code field. 

You will receive an e-mail that an account has been created for you on the Houston Food Bank training site.  You will also receive a link to log in and complete your training.

Note:  Mobile Only Partner Agencies must also complete the food safety training.

We will hold onsite Food Safety Training classes at the Food Bank the following days:
1.    May 19, 2017, at 10 am
2.    June 16, 2017, at 10am
3.    June 29, 2017, at 10 am

Please RSVP to Shalanya Jennings and include the class date, your name, and Agency name (space is limited).

Please understand if the training is not completed the agency account will be placed on hold
