2016 Food From The Bar Winners

Through donations and support, Houston's legal community helped the Houston Food Bank feed more children and families in our community.

Houston Food Bank kicked off its inaugural Food from the Bar campaign this April. During this month-long competition, Houston’s legal community earned points by donating food, funds, and volunteer time to benefit the Houston Food Bank. Through their donations and support, the legal community helped Houston Food Bank feed more children and families in our community. The event was timed to raise critical resources just before summer break, the time of greatest need for many local families who struggle to provide the extra food needed for children who are unable to receive breakfast and lunch at school.

Thank you to the legal community for a successful inaugural year for Food from the Bar. The 24 participating legal organizations raised $96,061, collected 5,066 pounds of food and donated 1,366 volunteer hours (418 volunteer shifts), which generated the equivalent of 374,378 meals for our community.

Congratulations to all our partners and special award winners!
