Houston Food Bank

Food from the Bar Kick Off

The Houston Food Bank is excited to kick off its inaugural Food from the Bar campaign. Food from the Bar (FFTB) is a month-long competition among Houston’s legal community where firms/organizations earn points by donating funds, food, and volunteer time to benefit the Houston Food Bank. Through their donations and support, the legal community helps Houston Food Bank feed more kids and families in our community. The event is timed to raise critical resources just before summer break, the time of greatest need for many local families who struggle to provide the extra food needed for children not receiving breakfast and lunch at school.

Throughout the month of April, the legal community will compete to win awards such as Best All-Around Award, Creativity Award and Spirit Award. With the help of six Steering Committee members, the competition is off to a great start with 25 participating legal firms/organizations. On Friday, April 1st, 65 legal volunteers helped kick off the campaign by spending their Friday night volunteering at the Houston Food Bank. Below are the team’s current standings as of April 4thCheck out the live scoreboard here.
