At Undies for Everyone, they believe underwear is a basic need that is critical for a child's self-esteem and confidence. Currently, Undies for Everyone, serves eight school districts in the Houston area, which includes more than 340,000 economically disadvantaged students.

In 2014, they distributed 75,000 pairs of new underwear across these school districts. From a recent survey conducted by communities in school in 2014, it was shown that one of the “unexpected reasons” kids drop out of school is they don’t have the right clothes or shoes. Studies have also shown that there is a direct correlation between food insecurity and the ability to provide basic clothing needs for children.

Thus a partnership with Undies for Everyone and Houston Food Bank’s Backpack Buddy Program was developed in early 2015. In January 2016, as a result of the hard work of Undies for Everyone, 300 Backpack schools will receive two pairs of underwear for every child on the program.
