Houston Food Bank

Join us for Theme Nights!

There is something for everyone at Houston Food Bank’s Theme Nights. Theme Nights are shorter volunteer shifts that are followed by a one-hour activity. So, not only do you have the opportunity to fight hunger in our community, but you also have a chance to have some fun along the way! These activities include everything and anything.

Past events have included theme nights for single people along with a singles mixer following the volunteer activity. The Houston Food Bank also hosted Ka Pa Hula Na Pua o Kamali’i, Houston’s only Halua studio and had an exciting luau. We have had the Houston Ballet perform for a theme night and had Salsa dance lessons as well.

We are currently offering free monthly Power Yoga classes on the Third Tuesday of each month for the rest of the year! So you have no excuse but to do your community and body good! We also have a Hispanic Heritage Theme Night on Wednesday, September 23rd, where the Houston Institute of Hispanic Culture will be bringing artists from Bolivia, Columbia, and Venezuela. Come take a mini-vacation in Latin America at the Houston Food Bank!

On Wednesday, October 14th, we have partnered with the Anti-Defamation League for an interactive anti-bullying seminar, so we can all learn how to be heroes! On Thursday, October 15th, we are having a Motorcycle Theme Night with ATM Ryderz. As you can see, there truly is something for everyone at Houston Food Bank’s Theme Nights.

You never know what's coming up next at the Houston Food Bank, so please check out our monthly newsletter and events calendar regularly. If you would like more information or are interested in partnering for a future theme night, please email Megan Hageney, Volunteer Services Experience Agent.
