Target Meals For Mind

Houston Food Bank is pleased to partner with Target during the 2015-16 school year by participating in their Meals for Minds program. Through this project, Target, in partnership with Heart of America Foundation, selects school libraries to renovate and then funds food distributions from the Houston Food Bank, including fresh produce and canned goods, for students at the school to take home to their families.

For the third year in a row, fresh foods and staples are being delivered to two local elementary schools with the funding that is provided through Target’s initiative. At an elementary school in Southwest Houston, a 10 pound box of produce is provided to each student twice monthly. Across town, 225 students at a school in northeast Houston are being provided substantial bags of food every Friday for the weekend.
