Gift of Produce Kick-Off

The Houston Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Association is a professional organization of Retailers, Suppliers, Vendors, and Growers that do business in the Houston area. We are hosting our 29^th annual Gift of Produce this year. This event started with a 100,000 pound donation in 1986 and has grown to 2.6 million pounds for last year.

We added a Summer Gift of Produce this year to take advantage of the summer fruit season and also because the need is greater in the summer with kids out of school.

Our goal this year is to increase our gift to over 3 million pounds of Produce. Through this gift, the Houston Food Bank is able to provide nutritious and healthy meals to underprivileged families throughout Southeast Texas.
