Comcast Cares...Again!

Comcast Cares 3.jpgOn Saturday, April 25th, volunteers gathered at the Houston Food Bank in support of 2015 Comcast Cares Day, providing hands-on help in the fight against hunger. Comcast volunteers worked to pack boxes for seniors, sort and box donations to be distributed to 600 partner agencies, pack Backpack buddy bags for children, and prepare food boxes distributed to families in emergencies or natural disasters.

Comcast Cares Day was the Houston Food Bank’s second consecutive year partnering with Comcast to help residents struggling with hunger in the Houston community. Charisse Lillie, Vice President of Community Investment Comcast Corporation and President of Comcast Foundation presented Houston Food Bank's CEO Brian Greene with a $25,000 check to provide 75,000 meals to the those in need. In addition to the meals provided by the financial donation, volunteers produced over 83,000 meals as a result of their efforts. Houston Food Bank is grateful for the continued support and partnership with Comcast.
