11th Annual Empty Bowls Houston

Empty Bowls 5.jpgEmpty Bowls is a grassroots effort by artists and craftspeople in cities and towns across the country to feed the hungry in their communities. Empty Bowls Houston is presented by Whole Foods Market and implemented locally by Houston-area ceramists and artists to create finely crafted, one-of-a-kind bowls made of ceramic, wood, glass, and fiber.

This year’s Empty Bowls will take place on Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (4848 Main Street). For a minimum $25 donation, attendees have the pleasure of selecting a bowl from the thousands donated by Houston area ceramists and craft artists, and receiving a simple lunch of soup donated by Whole Foods Market. Pottery and woodturning demonstrations, plus live music will be featured.
