Kids' Meals new home

Kids’ Meals will continue to do what has always worked. They will continue their Feed and Read program by delivering books four times a year. Kids’ Meals has a new location (330 Garden Oaks Blvd., Houston, TX 77018), and they will still be present at the Houston Food Bank on a regular basis when they have volunteer groups that number more than 40.  And to continue their success Kids’ Meals will be doing more than just the usual.

Kids’ Meals has brought on new talent to its board, including a pediatrician, Dr. Nicci Greeley, nutritionist Gabrielle Welch, and a restaurant owner, Matt Marcus. Alongside those who are already on the board, they will make sure the food that is provided for the children will be plentiful in variety, be healthy, and be what is needed to help the kids. Kids’ Meals has added a fifth route that will ensure the children of southwest Houston are well fed. Finally, Kids’ Meals will work to form a partnership with Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY), an organization dedicated to teaching parents how to get their “preschool youngsters” to be school ready.

Kids’ Meals will continue to build on its successes, while making changes when necessary. In addition to what has already been mentioned, they will make efforts to form more partnerships with agencies, offer client focused goods and services, and utilize fun and creativity to solve the pressing issue of childhood hunger in Houston. Because it’s worth it.
