Chefs' Dinner

Almost 300 people dined to make a difference at the 14th annual Chefs' Dinner at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa on Wednesday, April 9. Chaired by Patricia Reckling Taylor and Annette Dewalch Strake (left), the event raised over $250,000 to benefit the Houston Food Bank in its fight against hunger in our community. 

Guests were treated to a five-course meal with wine pairings generously underwritten and prepared by talented Houston chefs. Dessert Gallery Bakery & Cafe created apple-shaped cookies, reminiscent of the Food Bank's signature apple logo, for all of the guests to enjoy. This year's event also featured a silent auction for two pairs of Bruce Springsteen concert tickets, and raised enough money to provide an additional 12,300 meals.

Groupon

Groupon recently hosted a grassroots campaign to help the Houston Food Bank fight hunger. Participants were able to make a $10 donation to the Houston Food Bank by purchasing the promotion. The campaign was a great success and sold 449 Groupons, which will provide 13,470 to those in need.
