Special Guests Help Dedicate New Keegan Kitchen ![]() A special ceremony was held to dedicate Houston Food Bank's new kitchen in memory of Mary Barden Keegan. Construction was recently completed on the new 10,000 square-foot Keegan Kitchen, now housed within the Food Bank’s headquarters/warehouse. On Thursday, May 11, a special ceremony was held to dedicate the kitchen in memory of Mary Barden Keegan, founder of the End Hunger Network which built the original Keegan Kitchen located off the I-45 freeway. In attendance were The Honorable Sylvester Turner, Mayor of the City of Houston; Michael Keegan, grandson of Mary Barden Keegan; Ben Samuels, HFB board member and chair of the campaign that raised $6.5 million for construction of the kitchen; and Brian Greene, Houston Food Bank president. |
