Hunger Relief Team Annual Event Recap
Elena Davis, former supermodel and now Founder and CEO of I AM Waters, was this year’s guest speaker, who delivered a very inspirational story about her family experiencing homelessness and hunger when growing up. It was very moving to hear her connection to hunger and story being very relatable to our clients here at the Houston Food Bank. The event would not have been possible without our returning sponsor Coca Cola. Also many thanks to supporting partners, Potbelly for providing a delicious breakfast and Dow Chemical. Jordan Jackson, from the Houston Dash, was also in attendance and joined the full volunteer experience as well. The Houston Food Bank Hunger Relief Team is a group of companies and organizations that have made a commitment to support the food bank on a regular basis. Currently it consisting 46 companies and last year, donating over 30 million pounds to the Houston Food Bank! |

Saturday, September 26th, members of the Houston Food Bank Hunger Relief Team came together for a
celebration breakfast and a full volunteer experience. For the past two years,
this group celebrated with an evening dinner, but switched things up this year with
offering employees and families of HRT to experience the food bank in action. Three
partners were recognized this year, for their daily dedication to giving back
to the community and constant fight against hunger. Recognized at this event were, HEB, Kroger and Walmart for
their continuous support.
