During calendar year, the Houston Food Bank (HFB) distributed 76 million pounds of product in our 18-county service area. For the current fiscal year, which ends June 30, HFB is distributing - on average - 6.7 million pounds of product each month. In keeping with our commitment to provide healthy nutritious foods, an average of two million pounds of what's distributed each month is fresh produce.
Houston Food Bank provides food and meal assistance to 18 counties in southeast Texas via a network of more than 500 partner agencies. We also have Partner Distribution Organizations, including Galveston County Food Bank, Brazos Valley Food Bank, and Montgomery County Food Bank, which assist in getting those meals to those in need. "We can achieve this level of success only with the help of donors like you, hunger relief partners, and the tens of thousands of volunteers who give their time," says Greene. "All we have accomplished in the past and will accomplish in the future can be attributed to the generosity and dedication of individuals, businesses and foundations, working together on behalf of those in need.
